Time for another in our series of video reviews, unboxings & demos, with a great idea for a set from Lifecolor.
Their new 2014 release entitled “Burned” (Ref: CS19) is a boxset of acrylic paints. It’s a novel idea containing all you might need in one packet for reproducing incinerated hardware.
Capturing the many different shades of burned or scorched metal on your miniatures can be challenging. This set of 5 acrylic water-based paints & one pigment pot, will help you on the way.
All the shades work well to recreate burned-out vehicles or tanks but as usual you can intermix them to make your own combinations. The various references are shown in detail in this 8-minute video & when used as supplied they are excellent, but when mixed up a bit, they are even better.
You’ll see what we mean by watching the film. We take our standard test piece Sherman hull & give it a burned look using the set. It is finished off with pigments – including Ash from the set & 3 Mig Productions references for that scorchio look!
